How will the print industry survive? What is the impact of demassification?

In this day and age, it is hard to tell if the print industry that makes up magazines, newspapers, and books will survive much longer. In the beginning of the era of print, newspapers for a form of mass communication, so everybody knew what was happening in the world and in the country. They were a cheap form of information and they came out during multiple times of the day. It was a great way for businesses to advertise and create jobs. Now, the newspaper industry or any printed publication is slowly declining. Because of this new technology such as the Internet and e-books, people no longer have reason to buy those copies. The benefits of some of these inventions are that they are money-saving in the long run, they are not harmful to the environment, they take up less space, and in most cases, they have an unlimited amount of storage for space. Basically, the invention of the e-book and Internet causes for the failure of the print industry.

Demassification is the narrowing of topics for specific interests. Demassification, in the print industry calls for more opportunities for more businesses. In the beginning, it was a jump starter for magazines, now it is its downfall. Because there are so many websites and e-zines, they all appeal to a different audience and they are not nearly as expensive to keep up. Hopefully, the print industry will survive, but right now, it is a long way from its comeback.
