The internet plays a much larger part in our society than it once did in decades past. Now the internet has become a whole world within itself, harnessing the information of the world. This highly developed, instantaneous source of information has changed a lot of things over the years, reporting the news being one of them. Since the internet has slithered its way into almost every house in developed countries, it has managed to change the way people get their news.
Throughout the world the internet is what gives most people (depending on the area) their news. As people turn to the internet for their news the popularity of blogs and internet news sources increases dramatically. Now that people turn to the Internet and blogs for their news, the source of their information is now instant. There is no more waiting for the news report in the evening nor is there a wait for the daily paper the next day. If big news happens and people go to the internet, they can hear about it first. Also with the advent of blogs providing news there is a chance for more independent writers to be read. There is a wider variety of opinions when people turn to blogs and the internet rather than reading a specialized paper, or a slightly biased one.
