How has conglomeration changed the movie and television industry?

Conglomeration has changed the movie and television industries in the sense that it now reaches a more vast variety of audiences. The 'Big Six' are six corporations that are perfect examples movie and television companies who have been improved from conglomeration. These 'Big Six' are Disney, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, Columbia, Universal and Warner's. They started off as smaller companies and slowly began to expand by buying out other companies and expanding by making deals. Not only are these companies movie producers, they also have connections to the television. Disney has movies and TV shows under their name, but they also work with ABC, ABC Family and all of the ESPN channels. Another example is Universal and their ties to NBC. If Fox channel has a show that is doing well, then 20th Century can produce a movie off of it. It can also work the other way around. Disney and Paramount were two of the first big names that came about in the industry back in the 1920s. They started off as small, struggling companies but eventually made it to the top as two of the six biggest companies in the movie and television medias. These companies and many more have made it through the political days of running the studios, to where they are today. During this political control companies were told what to do, say, show and and not show. As a result of conglomeration companies have risen to the top of the industry and can still work to please the people, and the politics.
