News began as being reported by word of mouth. Then as technology advanced it grew into print, radio and ultimately through moving pictures on home television sets. The next stop after television? Internet. Internet has changed the way new is reported in a number of ways. News can now be viewed whenever the audience wants to. Its at their command. Many of the online news sources such as CNN.com and local papers can be found for free which is also another plus of finding your news online. The internet has made the news available to basically everyone because now there is a medium for everyone to enjoy their news.

Blogs have also changed the way news is reported and the way that reporters gather their information. People can independently post their own news stories and eyewitness accounts of events on their personal blogs. Reporters can access information about stories in this manner as well and blogs could be used as a key tool in gathering and putting together information to create news stories.

The internet is just the next innovation in technology. With every innovation, news becomes available to the masses quicker and more efficiently. The internet is a vital source in broadcasting news as well as collecting the information to create the stories and it really is the best thing to happen to the business yet and will continue to change it.
